The Nutrient Core report

This involves the gene variant’s (SNP’s) to indicate possible lactose and glucose intolerance; it gives an indication of any extra vitamin requirements you might have; it looks at genes which affect microbiome diversity - the bugs in your gut; how your body deals with caffeine; how your appetite is regulated; it includes a suggestion of how your body deals with sugar and fat ; whether you are susceptible to an increased inflammatory response; possible risk of raised blood pressure and information about your circadian rhythm - indicating the natural daily rhythm of your sleep and wake cycle.

The Methylation report

Methylation is a simple biochemical process occurring in the cells of the body, millions of times a second. The body is like a well oiled machine with gears and switches. Methylation is the mechanism that keeps those switches and gears going. Optimal methylation results in  a good immune response; toxins being removed from the body; energy being produced as needed; good mental health and a well functioning heart and blood circulation.

This report contains a huge amount of information. It gives information about many gene variants (SNP’s), which tell how your body produces energy - the basis of all body processes.

The Detoxification report

This involves the gene variant’s (SNP’s) associated with your bodies dustbin service - how the body cleans up after your day. This suggests how your body handles food, alcohol, pharmaceutical drugs and environmental toxins. Some of us have less natural protection here and  it can be useful to know our susceptibilities. They might explain why we are feeling the way we are.

The Metabolic report

This involves the gene variant’s (SNP’s) that influence how your body uses food to provide energy.

There is a huge amount of information in this report. It can indicate how to improve your blood sugar balance and what sort of diet might support weight loss. There are gene variants that influence overeating and understanding how your appetite is regulated can be empowering. Knowing how your body produces cholesterol can help you manage your cholesterol levels. Understanding about your cell powerhouse pathways - the mitochondria - enables you to enhance your energy.

The Nervous report

This includes the gene variant’s (SNP’s) for the chemical messengers involved in the nervous response: dopamine (to do with how motivated you are); serotonin  (all about your calmness and contentment); adrenalin and noradrenaline (to do with your response to acute stress e. g being face to face with a tiger); melatonin (important for your sleep) GABA ( important for being able to switch off from things and relax) and cortisol (all about chronic stress e.g the result of modern life - blood sugar control too). The report can tell you how sensitive your cells are to these chemicals and whether they hang around too long in your body. This may be a good or bad thing depending on other factors.

The Athletic report

Knowledge of your  DNA story allows you to make adjustments that can improve your athletic performance. This is the focus of the report. Three areas are covered - train, recover and perform.

Learn the best way for you as an individual  to train by seeing the gene variants (SNP’s) that you carry and how to use them for cardiovascular adaptation ; the best fuel for performance -  carbohydrates or fat.; nutrients to support structural strength.

Learn about your bodies ability to recover by building resilience and reducing your risk of injury through an understanding of how your body responds to inflammation and cell damage. Work with, not against your ideal sleep/wake cycle.

Learn how to improve your performance by taking account of the gene variants (SNP’s) that influence stress, stimulation and therefore your achievements.
